aria-controls='tab-id-1-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >Criteria for Dealing with Sick Child at School<\/div><div id='tab-id-1-content' class='tab_content active_tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-1-tab' aria-hidden=\"false\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>As the new school year begins, we want to inform you of some changes to our processes that will minimize the spread of illnesses such as the flu and COVID-19. It is your school\u2019s goal to ensure a safe return for students and staff, and we ask for your cooperation.\u00a0 Many symptoms resemble a multitude of illnesses, and only your child\u2019s healthcare provider can determine the exact cause of the symptoms. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>When a child becomes sick during the school day, the parent will be notified to pick up the child within 45 minutes.\u00a0 The symptoms that will result in a child being sent home from school include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.\u00a0 The child will be sent home and will be permitted to return to school after the following criteria has been met:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Criteria #1:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A minimum of ten days has past <u>AND<\/u><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The last 24-hours must be fever-free without fever-reducing medications AND<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>All symptoms must have improved.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your child will be sent home with a note that states the date the student may return.\u00a0 <u>Your child will NOT require a doctor\u2019s note to return to school on the date noted on the home instructions.<\/u>\u00a0 We encourage you to consult your healthcare provider about your child\u2019s symptoms. <u>If your healthcare provider feels that your child is ready to return to school before the specified date on the home instructions<\/u>, please request a doctor\u2019s note that states this is a \u201cNon-COVID related illness\u201d with a the return date specified.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We encourage you to promote the health of your child by teaching him or her to prevent the spread of infection.\u00a0 These strategies include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects, like tables, countertops, light switches, doorknobs, and cabinet handles).<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>(CDC, August 8, 2020)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you have any questions, please reach out to your principal or school nurse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section class='av_tab_section av_tab_section av-2hiezp-dfcf8e05c248507a3d7a20ab5fbf00de'  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div id='tab-id-2-tab' class='tab' role='tab' aria-selected=\"false\" tabindex=\"0\" data-fake-id='#tab-id-2' aria-controls='tab-id-2-content'  itemprop=\"headline\" >Spnish Criteria for Dealing wtih a Sick Child at School<\/div><div id='tab-id-2-content' class='tab_content' role='tabpanel' aria-labelledby='tab-id-2-tab' aria-hidden=\"true\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Al comenzar el nuevo a\u00f1o escolar, queremos informarle de algunos cambios en nuestros procesos que minimizar\u00e1n la propagaci\u00f3n de enfermedades como la gripe y COVID-19. El objetivo de su escuela es garantizar un regreso seguro para los estudiantes y el personal, y le pedimos su cooperaci\u00f3n. Le recomendamos que consulte a su proveedor de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica sobre los s\u00edntomas de su hijo. <u>Si su proveedor de atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica considera que su hijo est\u00e1 listo para regresar a la escuela antes de la fecha especificada en las instrucciones que le dieron<\/u>, solicite una nota del m\u00e9dico que indique que se trata de una &#8220;enfermedad no relacionada con COVID&#8221; con una fecha de regreso especificada.<\/p>\n<p>Lo alentamos a promover la salud de su hijo ense\u00f1\u00e1ndole a prevenir la propagaci\u00f3n de infecciones.
